WHEREAS, prominent Pittsburghers of the early 1900 era, such as Andrew Daugherty, Cluss Lawrence, John O'Toole, and Judge John Sweeney organized a group to discuss any subject under the sun; and
WHEREAS, since the first Amen Corner Annual Dinner in 1925, the group has gathered each year to honor its retiring president and a speaker of national significance, this year gathering at the Rivers Club on Wednesday, December 14, 2005 from 5:00 - 8:00; and
WHEREAS, Robert Fragasso, President of the Fragasso Group, has been President of the Amen Corner for the past year, leading the group through a period of increased membership and organizational growth; and
WHEREAS, Robert Fragasso and his partners have over three decades of experience in investment and financial planning for more than 1,500 households, corporations, and retirement plans; and
WHEREAS, in addition to serving in the US Marine Corps, Robert Fragasso graduated from Duquesne University and did post-graduate work at Carnegie Mellon and the University of Pittsburgh; and
WHEREAS, Robert Fragasso is active with local charities and organizations including Animal Friends, Duquesne University, and LaRoche College; and
WHEREAS, Robert Fragasso has received acclaim for his new book, "Starting Your Own Practice: The Independence Guide for Professional Service Providers", a book that provides aspiring entrepreneurs a step-by-step guide of the independent business process.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh congratulates and thanks Robert Fragasso for his leadership of Amen Corner; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby declares Wednesday, December 14, 2005, "Robert Fragasso Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
