Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby acknowledges the many contributions of the 2011 awardees and extends gratitude to each individual and organization for making the North Side a great place to live, work and play; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council acknowledges the efforts that the NSLC has achieved through collaboration with community and corporate organizations and hereby declares June 2011 to be "Northside Leadership Conference and Awardees Month in the City of Pittsburgh."

WHEREAS, the Northside Leadership Conference is a coalition of fourteen North Side neighborhoods and other community stakeholders, serving the entire North Side, which covers 20% of the city - the largest service area of any community development corporation in the City; and
WHEREAS, the Northside Leadership Conference is committed to addressing mutual concerns of North Side neighborhoods through a united approach in order to promote and enhance the vitality, quality of life and image of Pittsburgh's Northside, and the NSLC operates seven business lines, including real estate development, business development, workforce development, public realm improvements, public safety initiatives, health and wellness programs, communications and advocacy, making it the largest and most comprehensive CDC in Pittsburgh
WHEREAS, on June 9, 2011, members, partners and supporters of the North­side Leadership Conference will join together for the Twenty-Eighth Northside Leadership Conference Annual Awards Dinner; and
WHEREAS, the 2011 NSLC award recipients include Neighborhood Awardees comprised of residents and community leaders who have accomplished economic and residential development, neighbor­hood planning and many volunteer hours of service to each of their communities; Scholarship Awardees comprised of twelfth-grade students who have performed volunteer service and plan to attend college or trade school; a Service Provider Awardee, honored as an agency working collaboratively within the community; and Lifetime Achievement Awards.
