Resolution authorizing the acceptance of a quit claim deed conveying all right, title, and interest in 5033 Electric Street and dedicating said property as part of the Hazelwood Greenway.

WHEREAS, the City of Pittsburgh has recognized, for over four decades, the importance of the management of greenways and the value they add to our communities,
WHEREAS, greenways connect our communities physically by enhancing movement of people and wildlife,
WHEREAS, the consolidation of parcels for conservation are vital to promote ecological corridors for native flora and fauna,
WHEREAS, contiguous corridors decrease human and wildlife conflict, thus providing various health and safety benefits to both our wildlife and communities,
WHEREAS, the parcel located at 5033 Electric Street abuts the Hazelwood Greenway on three sides of the property, and
WHEREAS, acquisition of this property would allow the existing Hazelwood Greenway to be contiguous and better defined.
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
Section 1. That execution of a quit-claim deed by and between the Estate of Regina Onda and the City of Pittsburgh to convey the parcel identified as 5033 Electric Street (L&B 56-G-258) in the 15st Ward of the City of Pittsburgh for the sum of $1.00 plus costs, is hereby approved.
Section 2. That acceptance of the aforementioned Deed by the City of Pittsburgh is hereby approved.
Section 3. Upon recordation of the aforementioned deed, 5033 Electric Avenue shall be incorporated into the Hazelwood Greenway.
