WHEREAS, HELP or Helping Entrepreneurs Learn from Peers is an organization founded in 2004 designed to provide assistance to entrepreneurs by providing a venue to exchange ideas with peers and meeting with leaders of the entrepreneurial community; and,
WHEREAS, through initial funding from the Heinz Endowments and the Benedum Foundation, HELP will be building and launching a one stop portal for Pittsburgh entrepreneurs; and,
WHEREAS, the portal, to be known as HelpStartups, will be an all inclusive service providing resources, company profiles, executive postings, information access for business plans, the investment community and team building, a colleague forum, licensing technology, government aid and a calendar of events; and,
WHEREAS, HELP will be growing the web portal utilizing advanced capabilities to support the operation and provide unique features to improve the entrepreneurial environment in the Pittsburgh region.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize the important work of HELP and congratulates the organization for the launch of the new web portal, HelpStartups, whose Director, Gary Rosenteel and prestigious Advisory Board has brought to fruition; and,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, September 18, 2007, to be HELPSTARTUPS DAY in the City of Pittsburgh.
