Title
Resolution approving execution of a Special Warranty Deed from the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh to the City of Pittsburgh for the conveyance of Block and Lot 8-C-150 in the 22nd Ward of the City of Pittsburgh for public park purposes.
 
 
Body
Whereas, the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh wishes to convey Block and Lot 8-C-150 in the 22nd Ward of the City of Pittsburgh, for the sum of $1.00, and
 
Whereas, the City of Pittsburgh has requested authorization to accept the aforementioned deed in order to expand and facilitate renovations to the adjoining property now known as Allegheny Public Square and/or Ober Park; and
 
Whereas, the Council of the City of Pittsburgh believes that the proposed conveyance is in the best interest of the City of Pittsburgh and desires to give its approval.
 
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
 
Section 1. The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Finance, on behalf of the City, are hereby authorized to accept a Special Warranty Deed from the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh conveying certain property in the 22nd Ward of the City of Pittsburgh, known as Block and Lot 8-C-150, to expand the City's public park now known as Allegheny Public Square and/or Ober Park.  Said property contains 10,308.36 Square Feet and /or 0.237 Acres.
 
Section 2.  Said transfer shall be for the consideration of $1.00.  The URA shall be responsible for any applicable transfer taxes and/or property closing costs.
