WHEREAS, Jackie Robinson grew up in Elliott and was an avid sports enthusiast. In the early 70's she played with the Elliott Athletic Association, later named Elliott-West End Athletic Association. WHEREAS, Jackie was very active in her children's activities and was involved with the parent organization at St Margaret of Scotland Elementary School. She began coaching softball for Westwood Oakwood Recreation Association, later named the Westwood Oakwood Athletic Association (WOAA) and later became the Commissioner of Girls Softball. She stayed with the Athletic Association for nearly ten years. She credits much of her success to John and Louise Jameson, who were the President and Vice President of the WOAA at the time; and,

WHEREAS, when her children attended Bishop Canevin High School, she coached the Bowling Team for 18 years with a wonderful volunteer staff. Even after her children graduated, she continued coaching because of her love for the kids. During her time at Canevin she always made sure to include the special needs children from the St Anthony's Program; and,

WHEREAS, more recently, Jackie volunteered with Save a Life Today Pittsburgh and attends community meetings. She continues to support the WOAA and recently played with other "legends" during their 60th Anniversary celebration; and,

WHEREAS, Jackie has three grand-children, Brielle, Blaze and Jaxon and tries to attend all of her grand-children's events. Her children have followed in her footsteps as Jason coaches both baseball and softball, Jacqlyn participated in coaching when her son was young and Jay has his mother's big heart by rescuing animals; and,

WHEREAS, Jackie and her husband Bill reside in the Westwood neighborhood of Pittsburgh and are celebrating 42 years of marriage; and,
