Title

Resolution authorizing the City to enter into a Grant Agreement with the Pennsylvania Automobile Theft Prevention Authority.

Body

      WHEREAS, the Pennsylvania Automobile Theft Prevention Authority ("PATPA") provides grant monies for projects involving the reduction of automobile theft; and

WHEREAS, the City's Bureau of Police has applied for and received a grant for July 2006 until April 2007 from PATPA for this purpose; and

      WHEREAS, the parties now wish to enter into a grant agreement setting for the duties and responsibilities of the parties.

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

Section 1.      The Mayor and the Chief of Police are hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with PATPA for the receipt of grant monies in the amount of $207,742.27 in connection with the Bureau's accepted project aimed at reducing automobile theft.
