Title
Resolution authorizing and directing the City of Pittsburgh Solicitor to petition the Municipality of Brentwood, located in Pennsylvania to take the action necessary to alleviate the parking conflict on Churchview Avenue between the City of Pittsburgh and Municipality of Brentwood, Pennsylvania.
Body
Whereas, in the past the City of Pittsburgh has shared parking and other costs associated with Churchview Avenue that borders the City of Pittsburgh and the Municipality of Brentwood; and
Whereas, the Municipality of Brentwood recently imposed a permit parking standard that discriminates against City of Pittsburgh residents who park on Churchview Avenue; and
Whereas, it is fitting and proper that the Municipality of Brentwood reconsider the imposition of the parking change on Churchview Avenue; and
Whereas, Churchview Avenue parking was shared by many municipalities including the City of Pittsburgh and Municipality of Brentwood, whom both parked on the outbound sections of Churchview Avenue on the Municipality of Brentwood's side due to the layout of Churchview Avenue.
Therefore, the Council of the City of Pittsburgh mandates the following
Section 1. The Solicitor of the City of Pittsburgh is authorized and directed to investigate any and all possible resolutions to settle the parking conflict, which may include petitioning the Municipality of Brentwood, Pennsylvania:
To file discrimination charges against the Municipality of Brentwood for unlawfully discriminating against City of Pittsburgh Residents who reside and park on Churchview Avenue by prohibiting their rights to park on Churchview Avenue.
