WHEREAS, the Elliott Brewers capped off a fantastic season by winning the 2008 Mayor's Cup Championship Little League Division on July 31st at Heinz Field; and
WHEREAS, the Elliott Brewers won the Championship Game by defeating Squirrel Hill by a score of 3 - 0; and
WHEREAS, the Elliott Brewers finished their season with an amazing record of 25 wins and only 1 loss; they were the Regular Season Champs of the Southwest Pittsburgh Brewers League and the Playoff Champs of the Southwest Pittsburgh Brewers League; and
WHEREAS, under the leadership of Manager, Ron Julian and Coaches, Vic Joseph, Rege Sauer and Tony Kohan, the team competed at the highest level; and
WHEREAS, the young men who put together such an outstanding season and contributed to the team's success are: Eric Cleis, Matt Dawgiello, Marc Holtz, Robert Julian, Cameron Kohan, Dominic Joseph, Justin Keck, D.J. Lawrence, Zachary Byerly, Rege Sauer, Corey Bryan, Billy McGuire and Vincenzo Joseph; and a special thanks to Scorekeeper, Rob Keck and Batboy, Memphis Carpenter for their help.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby congratulates the Elliott Brewers on such a wonderful season and commends them for all of their accomplishments.
