WHEREAS, Tamiko Stanley is an HR Executive and Inclusion Strategist residing in Pittsburgh who consults with more than 70 of Pittsburgh's leading businesses, non-profits and organizations in addition to leading clients in Maryland, Massachusetts and Canada; and,
WHEREAS, in 2008, as the Assistant Director of Personnel & Civic Service Commission and Chief Diversity & EEO Officer for the City of Pittsburgh, she initiated several innovative programs such as the DiverseCity 365 Program, increasing workforce diversity, increasing diverse applications by more than 200% and increasing workforce engagement; The Purple Pledge and Domestic Partner Awareness initiative and the first City-County full service resource fair which was the largest City- hosted event in history with more than 1,900 attendees; and,
WHEREAS, Ms. Stanley is well known for her advocacy for Domestic Violence Awareness which has earned her the Women's Center and Shelter Standing Firm Award, and her model for employer training was designated an industry best practice and was adopted by the United States Office of Personnel Management for Federal HR employees by the Obama Administration; and,
WHEREAS, Tamiko has received numerous awards for her work, including the YWCA Racial Justice Award for impacting social change, the highly coveted People Do Matter Award for HR and Diversity Excellence and named one of Pittsburgh's Top 25 Women Leaders of the Millennium by ONYX Woman Magazine; and,
WHEREAS, in addition, Ms. Stanley is a member of many boards such as The FISA Foundation, National Diversity Council, and Children's Sickle Cell Foundation, just to name a few; and,
WHEREAS, she is a very active member of her community who has a dedicated following of 25 young women who she has mentored. She helped develop support programs for college victims of dating violence and empowerment programs for college-age girls and young women; and,
