Resolution authorizing the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh to submit an Application to the Pennsylvania Office of the Budget for a Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) grant in the amount of $15,000,000 for the Carnegie Museum of Natural History project.  (Council District No. 8)
 
Body
Whereas, the City of Pittsburgh ("City") and the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh ("Authority") wish to obtain from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Office of the Budget a grant under the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program in the amount of $15,000,000 to be used for the Carnegie Museum of Natural History project; and
 
Whereas, the Authority has prepared an application which is available at the Authority's offices; and
 
Whereas, the Authority has indicated in the application that certain foundation and private donor funds in the amount of $20,000,000 will be provided as the local share of project costs;
 
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
 
Section 1.      The Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh is hereby authorized to file an application with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Office of the Budget for a grant under the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program in the amount of $15,000,000 for the Carnegie Museum of Natural History project.
 
Section 2.      Foundation and private donor funds in the amount of $20,000,000 will be provided as the local share of project costs.
 
Section 3.      The City agrees to reimburse the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for any expenditures of RACP funds determined by the Commonwealth to be ineligible.
