Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend and congratulate Reverend Maurice C. Trent Jr. on his successful ministry and congratulates him on the First Anniversary of his ordination and pastoral guidance of Lighthouse Cathedral. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that April 25, 2004 be hereby declared "Reverend Maurice C. Trent, Jr. Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Maurice C. Trent Jr. was born May 1, 1961.  He is the third child of eight siblings, born to Bishop Maurice C. Trent Sr. and Barbara Trent, parents who brought him up in the fear and love of the Lord; and
 
WHEREAS, in 1979 he joined the Army.  Upon returning home from the Military in 1982, Maurice met and then married Mary Pope in 1984; and
 
WHEREAS, Maurice served in ministry at the Upon This Rock Ministry under John and Candi Susswell in Atlanta, Georgia and went on to continue ministering at Lighthouse Church, now Lighthouse Cathedral; and
 
WHEREAS, when Maurice Trent, Jr. was ordained Youth Pastor, he took charge of the Youth Ministry, which under his guidance grew rapidly in size and numbers; and
 
WHEREAS, in April of 2003, Maurice Trent, Jr. was ordained Pastor and was given the honor of being the new Shepherd of Lighthouse Cathedral; and
 
WHEREAS, on Sunday, April 25, 2004, Reverend Maurice C. Trent Jr., celebrated his One Year Anniversary endowing guidance and spiritual renewal to the flock at Lighthouse Cathedral.
