WHEREAS, as a UPS Package Car Driver, Chuck served the Lawrenceville community for over 30 years; and,
WHEREAS, Chuck consistently went above and beyond anyone's expectations to complete his deliveries; and,
WHEREAS, Chuck was a familiar face loved by Lawrenceville residents, businesses, and dogs; and,
WHEREAS, Chuck thought about his customers’ needs before worrying about every type of inclement weather Pittsburgh could dish out that would stop anyone else from doing what he did; and,
WHEREAS, on your worst of days, Chuck would arrive with something and bring a smile to your face; and,
WHEREAS, Chuck, in his “UPS Browns” was like the “Pied Piper” for every dog in the Lawrenceville neighborhood, as they would chase him for treats and ‘pets’; and,
WHEREAS, Chuck treated every customer with respect and dignity; and,
WHEREAS, no matter how busy Chuck’s day was or how full his package car was, he took the time for even just a quick moment of pleasant conversation with anyone who wanted to talk with him; and,
WHEREAS, Chuck would always give you a honk of the horn if he saw you on the street; and,
WHEREAS, Chuck had 9,420 days worked, 2,307,900 packages delivered, 565,200 miles driven; and,
WHEREAS, Chuck went above and beyond service, as he played a part in making Lawrenceville what it is today-a thriving, welcoming community; and,
WHEREAS, Chuck will be missed beyond any stretch of the imagination and there is no replacing Chuck - someone can fill his space, but no one can take his place.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare July 19th, 2026, to be Chuck “Z-boy” Zdobinski Day in the City of Pittsburgh.
