Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby recognizes the Oncology Nursing Society and welcomes its members and thanks them for promoting excellence in nursing and displaying dedication to providing the highest quality of care. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Pittsburgh urges all the residents to observe Oncology Nursing Day on November 10, 2006.

WHEREAS, the Oncology Nursing Society has grown to over 33, 000 members nationwide and was founded and remains headquartered in Allegheny County
WHEREAS, oncology nurses are committed to providing quality cancer care, demonstrating excellence in patient care, teaching, research, administration and education; and
WHEREAS, the Oncology Nursing Society has brought over 2, 000 oncology professionals to Pittsburgh for the 7th Annual Institutes of Learning and the Advanced Practice Nursing Conference to provide the education that will further the ONS mission of promoting excellence in oncology nursing and quality cancer care for their patients; and
WHEREAS, ONS is a proud member and contributor to the recognized excellence of the healthcare community in our region.
