Title: WHEREAS, Supreme Court Justice Christine L. Donohue serves as a member of the Superior Court of Pennsylvania in Pittsburgh. She assumed her ten-year term in January, 2016; and,

WHEREAS, Supreme Court Justice Christine L. Donohue serves as a member of the Superior Court of Pennsylvania in Pittsburgh. She assumed her ten-year term in January, 2016; and,

WHEREAS, prior to her service as Supreme Court Justice, she served as Judge of the Pennsylvania Superior Court for eight years. As a lawyer, Justice Donohue was a civil trial lawyer and litigator for 27 years; and,

WHEREAS, the Honorable Christine Donohue graduated from East Stroudsburg University in 1974 and earned her Juris Doctor degree from Duquesne University School of Law in 1980, where she frequently volunteers. In 2022, she administered the Oath of admission for those who passed the bar exam; and,

WHEREAS, she is a member of numerous organizations and associations such as the American College of Trial Lawyers, The Pennsylvania Society, and the American, Pennsylvania, and Allegheny County Bar Association and, just to name a few; and,

WHEREAS, Justice Donohue has served on numerous boards such as the Hill House Association, Make-A-Wish Foundation of Western PA, and the National Aviary of Pittsburgh and currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Duquesne University School of Law and is a frequent lecturer at seminars on the topics of appellate practice and judicial ethics; and,

WHEREAS, Justice Donohue has received various awards and honors for her achievements. Most recently she was recognized as the 2023 Woman of the Year during the Duquesne Kline School of Law's 31st Annual Woman of the Year event and presented with the Judge Robert E. Dauer Award For Judicial Leadership & Excellence from Amen Corner; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Supreme Court Justice Christine Donohue for her service and who has paved the way for women in the legal profession; and,
