WHEREAS, during the month of May, Allegheny General Hospital Auxiliary and the Allegheny General Hospital-Northside Leadership Conference Partnership co-sponsor Stranger Awareness programs; and
WHEREAS, the disappearance and murder of East Allegheny resident Scott Drake was the catalyst for the Stranger Awareness program on Pittsburgh's Northside; and
WHEREAS, in its thirteenth year, students in Northside Elementary Schools, Manchester Elementary School and Northside Catholic Elementary School, will receive two days of instruction from Perry High School and Brashear High School students focusing on the importance of Stranger Awareness on April 25 and May 2; and
WHEREAS, on Friday, May 9, the program will conclude with a performance for students by Grover's Gang, a nationally known children's band; and
WHEREAS, the following individuals and organizations have offered support and partnered with this year's Stranger Awareness event:
