Title: NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby salute Frank Casorio on 37 years of teaching and for being a positive role model on the lives of our children; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday June 7, 2005 to be "Frank Casorio Day" here in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Frank Casorio graduated from Penn Hills High School in 1964and attended Duquesne University from where he graduated with honors, he then went on to earn his Masters Degree from Villanova; and,
 
WHEREAS, Frank started teaching at Taylor Allderdice High School in 1968 and became the Instructional Teacher Leader for the department in 1992, under his leadership, the department has earned a Silver Globe distinction as one of the 17 exemplary high school world language programs in Pennsylvania; and,
 
WHEREAS, Frank Casorio, has been a motivating, and inspirational role model to his students, many of whom have followed him into the profession; and,
 
WHEREAS, he is often identified by students who are named All-Star Achievers by the Post Gazette as the teacher that has influenced them the most.  He was interviewed on a Chicago radio program by a former student now a radio personality, during Saluting Teacher's Week as the person who had a great influence on her life; and,
 
WHEREAS, after 37 years in the teaching profession Frank Casorio will be retiring at the end of the 2004-05 school year.
