Title
Resolution authorizing and directing the Mayor, the Director of the Public Works Department and Chief of the Bureau of Building Inspection, to create six temporary (6) on-street vending permit areas on DeSoto Thackeray Street, between Fifth Avenue and O'Hara Street, to provide space for legally permitted vendors to operate during construction of the Schenley Plaza, for the period of March 1 through June 30, 2005.
Body
WHEREAS, vendors lawfully doing business in Schenley Plaza will be displaced during construction that will improve Schenley Plaza; and
WHEREAS, vendors provide a service to the entire University and Oakland community, by providing inexpensive, fast and delicious food to those on-the-go; and
WHEREAS, the needs of the community and the vendors may be met if vendors are temporarily relocated to a substitute place in Oakland where currently, there are no meters.
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
Section 1. Authorizing and directing the Mayor, the Director of the Public Works Department and Chief of the Bureau of Building Inspection, to create six temporary (6) on-street vending permit areas on DeSoto Thackeray Street, between Fifth Avenue and O'Hara Street, to provide space for legally permitted vendors to operate during construction of the Schenley Plaza, for the period of March 1 through June 30, 2005.
