WHEREAS, Pittsburgh CAPA and the Children's Museum have partnered to create a unique experiential learning program called Young Actors Teaching Through Theatre; and
WHEREAS, the partnership calls upon middle school CAPA theatre students to create unique, interactive programming for Museum visitors, while learning the art of teaching; and
WHEREAS, students develop their exhibits and lesson plans in the classroom and visit the museum bi-monthly to implement their programming; and
WHEREAS, examples of student work include interactive play at the Museum's theatre, puppet programs in the water exhibit, and Mister Rogers themed programming; and
WHEREAS, students are held to the same expectations as Children's Museum staff, further preparing them for future employment; and
WHEREAS, student work benefits the Children's Museum by adding energy and youth perspective to programming; and
WHEREAS, student work increases the overall capacity of the Children's Museum, enabling staff to focus their efforts elsewhere;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh congratulates Pittsburgh CAPA and the Children's Museum for creating a unique, positive, and community building partnership in our city and schools; and
