Title: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh recognizes Janice Koczerzat, a truly unique individual and a notable presence in the City of Pittsburgh, as she retires, and commends and thanks her for her 32 years of dedicated and professional service to the City of Pittsburgh. THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Monday, July 2, 2012 to be Janice Koczerzat Day in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Janice Koczerzat worked for the City of Pittsburgh for 32 years, having retired June 29, 2012; and
 
WHEREAS, Ms. Koczerzat began her employment with the City as a Clerk Typist II in the Department of Personnel in 1979, then worked in the Department of Finance until her promotion to Assistant Tax Supervisor in the Department of Law and shortly thereafter was again promoted to Tax Lien/Property Supervisor, finally taking on the role as an Administrative Assistant in the Department of Law; and
 
WHEREAS, Ms. Koczerzat is a lifelong City of Pittsburgh resident, having been born and raised in the South Side and settling in the Bon Air neighborhood with her husband Ken (known as Bo); and
 
WHEREAS, during her tenure with the City, Ms. Koczerzat worked tirelessly to elevate the standard of professionalism of all of the employees under her authority while managing the Real Estate Division of the Department of Law, also dedicating her efforts for the betterment of the City as a whole; and
 
WHEREAS, Ms. Koczerzat has also served her community faithfully as a member of the Bon Air Civic Association.
