Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh honors Dr. Robert Levovitz, Dr. Jennifer Rudin, and Malka Markovic for their efforts to strengthen Pittsburgh's Jewish Community; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby declares February 28, 2009, “Melava Malka Dinner Day” in the City of Pittsburgh

WHEREAS, on February 28, 2009 the Kollel Jewish Learning Center will host its annual Melava Malka Dinner at the Jewish Community Center; and
 
WHEREAS, the dinner will honor Drs. Robert Lebovits and Jennifer Rudin with the Rabbi Shaul Kagan Legacy Award; and
 
WHEREAS, Drs. Lebovtis and Rudin will be recognized for their commitment and dedication to the Kollel and other Jewish institutions; and
 
WHEREAS, Mrs. Malka Markovic will receive the Community Service Award; and
 
WHEREAS, Mrs. Markovic will be recognized for over two decades of service to Pittsburgh's Jewish women; and
 
WHEREAS, the Kollel Jewish Learning Center is dedicated to increasing comprehension of classical Jewish texts and fostering awareness and appreciation for Torah scholarship and jewish knowledge in the context of everyday life.
