WHEREAS, The International WeLoveU Foundation (WeLoveU) is a non-profit organization founded by Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah in 2001; and,

WHEREAS, it is formally associated with the United Nations Department of Global Communications, and pursues the mission of spreading a mother's love by bringing hope and happiness to people all over the world, regardless of their nationality, race, religion, or socioeconomic status; and,
WHEREAS, WeLoveU has organized charitable activities in over 70 countries worldwide, its main objective is to support the 17 Sustainable Development Goals that are aimed at improving the quality of life for people and preserving the environment for a more sustainable future; and,
WHEREAS, on February 8, 2024, WeLoveU donated 60 new coats to the students of Urban Pathways K-5 College Charter School located in Pittsburgh, PA to provide all with an equal opportunity to receive resources for a warmer winter while alleviating family expenses supporting Sustainable Development Goals #3 and #4, Good Health and Well-being and Quality Education; and,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh, acknowledges the remarkable contributions of the International WeLoveU Foundation and its volunteers for showing an unwavering commitment to the community by actively engaging in the well-being of our youth through an approach of sharing love and hope with those in need inspiring hope for our neighbors and continuing to make a positive impact.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Thursday, February 8, 2024, to be “International WeLoveU Foundation Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
