Title: Now therefore be it Resolved, the residents of the City of Pittsburgh express their most sincere gratitude for the dedication of these men and women; and Be it further Resolved, the City of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, hereby declares Saturday, October 25, 2003 "Pittsburghers in Hollywood Appreciation Day".

Whereas, Steeltown Entertainment Project is a group of powerhouse entertainment visionaries from Pittsburgh leveraging their talent, influence, and experience to benefit the town they love; and
Whereas, the Pittsburgh Entertainment Summit is occurring on October 25, 2003 to promote Pittsburgh as a new film and television production center; and
Whereas, Pittsburgh native Peter Ackerman has excelled as a screenwriter on films such as Ice Age; and
Whereas, Pittsburgh native David Conrad is the current co-star of the television hit series Miss Match and films such as Men of Honor; and
Whereas, Pittsburgh native Eric Gold has managed many top Hollywood stars including Jim Carey, Will Farrell, and the Wayans Brothers; and
Whereas, former Pittsburgher Laura Davis has had a successful documentary filmmaking career, including work for Martin Scorcese and Woody Allen; and
Whereas, Pittsburgh native Bernie Goldmann has stood out as the producer of Looney Tunes: Back in Action and the film Saving Silverman; and
Whereas, Pittsburgh native Carl Kurlander is the co-founder of Steeltown, and the writer/producer of such successes as St. Elmo's Fire and Saved By The Bell: The New Class; and
Whereas, Pittsburgh native Maxine Lapiduss is the co-founder of Steeltown, and has been a writer/producer of the television sitcoms Roseanne and Ellen; and
Whereas, Pittsburgh native Sally Lapiduss has served as a writer/producer on the television hit shows Mad About You and The Nanny; and
Whereas, Squirrel Hill native and Carnegie Mellon alumnus Rob Marshall has received critical acclaim for his direction of the Academy Award winning movie Chicago; and
Whereas, Pittsburgh native Terri Minsky has had great success as the executive producer of Lizzy McGuire; and
Whereas, Carnegie Mellon graduate George Romero has had a long and distinguished directing career, including the classic Night of the Living Dead; and
