Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh, does hereby recognize and commend Lemington Community Senior Center for their selfless commitment and Mrs. Alberta Crosby for her 105 years of dedicated service to her family and community

WHEREAS, Lemington Community Senior Center will host their Second Annual Spring Luncheon Saturday, May 13, 2006, at the Pittsburgh University Center's Holiday Inn Select in Oakland ; and
 
WHEREAS, the Annual Spring Luncheons honor seniors in the community aging from 90 years and up. One of this years honorees will be Mrs. Alberta Crosby at 105 years of age; and
 
WHEREAS, Mrs. Crosby was born in Union, South Carolina on October 15, 1900. Her father and mother's name were Willie and Sarah Gregory. Mrs. Crosby was the mother of one daughter who died several years ago. Her daughter was a former resident of Ebenezer Personal Care Home; and
 
WHEREAS, Mrs. Crosby was employed in a private home for many years as a cook, she said she could make just about anything. Her favorite meat is neck bones. One of her hobbies was dancing. She often danced the Charleston in night clubs; and
 
WHEREAS, Mrs. Crosby had two grandsons, Vernon and Johnny. There are five great grandchildren of which he is one.
