WHEREAS, Mother Bernice Groce will be honored for serving as the State Supervisor of Women for the First Jurisdiction of Western Pennsylvania, Church of God in Christ for over 16 years; and
WHEREAS, since 1965 Mother Groce has been a faithful member of Bible Center Church of God in Christ located in the Homewood community. The founder of Bible Center was the late Elder Ralph J. Groce, who went home to be with the Lord in 2003. He was the husband of Mother Groce for sixty-nine years; and
WHEREAS, Mother Groce is the mother of three sons and one daughter and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she also is mother to so many sons and daughters of the church who love and appreciate her as well; and
WHEREAS, Mother Groce is a (46) forty-six year resident of the Homewood-Brushton community. She is an honorable, committed woman of prayer who is a treasure to the Church of God in Christ.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council in the City of Pittsburgh recognizes and commends Mother Bernice Groce for her life-long dedication to the Church of God in Christ and to the City of Pittsburgh.
