WHEREAS, life’s most valuable of gifts are those that are difficult to calculate in material terms, given discreetly and without thought of reward; and,

WHEREAS, Patti Perrett, daughter of Elaine and John Pillage, grew up in Brookline, has distinguished herself in the humble, selfless acts that she does for others; and,

 

WHEREAS, Patti Perrett, a graduate of Elizabeth Seton High School, began working for the Controller’s Office in January of 1978, hired as a clerk as needed, to type the annual report for City Controller John McGrady; and,

 

WHEREAS, Patti Perrett has taken on numerous roles and responsibilities within the Controller’s Office that monitor City government related expenditures and payments; and,

 

WHEREAS, Patti Perrett has worked for City Controllers John McGrady, Thomas Flaherty, Michael Lamb and Rachael Heisler to provide the independent and objective oversight that protects city dollars from waste, fraud and abuse; and,

 

WHEREAS, the world has been changed by her work, a claim that not many can make, the perseverance and leadership by Patti Perrett exemplifies her dedication and the contributions towards improving the quality of life for all people in City of Pittsburgh; and,

 

WHEREAS, Patti Perrett embraces a new chapter in her life so that she can devote more time traveling, cooking and doing volunteer work along with her husband, Dale, her three daughters, Meghan, Kaitlyn, and Shannon and four grandchildren, Jackson, Alexandra, Lucy and Jonathan;

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh and the City Controller do hereby recognize and honor Patti Perrett for her 46 years of work and dedicated contributions with wishes for a long and happy retirement filled with good health, friends, family and laughter;

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare January 30, 2024 to be “Patti Perrett Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
