Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby congratulates Sara and Clinton on 55 blessed years of marriage and wishes them a most happy Anniversary; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby proclaim Thursday, October 9, 2008 as "Sara and Clinton Bottoms, Sr. Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, on October 9, 1953, the late Reverend R.W. Twiggs joined, in holy matrimony, Sara and Clinton Bottoms, Sr.; and
 
WHEREAS, upon moving to Pittsburgh, Sara and Clinton joined Baptist Temple Church in Homewood, where Clinton serves on the Usher Board and Sara is a Missionary; and
 
WHEREAS,  Sara, originally from Sumpter, South Carolina, worked at Shadyside Hospital for 12 years before retiring and is a member of the Order of the Eastern Star; and
 
WHEREAS,  Clinton, originally from Conway, North Carolina, worked for the Pittsburgh Board of Public Education for 32 years before retiring, is a skilled auto mechanic and is a Prince Hall Mason; and
 
WHEREAS,   Sara and Clinton have three children, Clinton Bottoms, Jr., Shawaun Morgan and Marie Robinson, 9 children and 13 great-grandchildren; and
 
WHEREAS,   Sara and Clinton are lifelong Democrats and they enjoy traveling.
