Title

Resolution providing that the City of Pittsburgh enter into a professional services contract or contracts with Allegheny General Hospital for the purpose of providing medical and ancillary services for the City's Workers' Compensation program.  Cost not to exceed $5,575,000.00.

 

Body

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby enacts as follows:

 

Section 1.  The Mayor and the Director of Personnel, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, are hereby authorized to enter into a contract or contracts in a form or forms approved by the City Solicitor to:

 

a.                     Engage Allegheny General Hospital to provide medical care and ancillary services for the City's Workers' Compensation Program and to compensate Allegheny General Hospital for such medical care and ancillary services at a cost not to exceed $5,575,000.00 (Five Million Five Hundred Seventy Five Thousand Dollars) chargeable and payable from Code Account 44-9, Workers' Compensation Medical / Administration, Index Code 004499, Account 574300, Organization 999300, Fund 1000, Sub Class 040, and Budget Year 2002, Department of Personnel and Civil Service Commission.

 

The ancillary services will include but not be limited to:

 

Medical Care                                                                                                                              

Case Management                                                                                                         Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation

Claims Management                                                                                                         Prescription Drugs

Durable Medical Equipment                                                                                    Actuarial Analysis of City's Loss Expenses

Independent Medical Examinations                                                               Safety

Excess Insurance                                                                                                          

Vocational Rehabilitation

 

 

Section 2. 

                      That the City Controller shall encumber funds, subject to there being funds appropriated by City Council in the same fiscal year in Code Account 44-9, Employee Expense Workers' Compensation Program Medical, Index Code 004499, Account 574300, Fund 1000, Organization 999300, Sub Class 040, and Budget Year 2002, Department of Personnel and Civil Service Commission.
