WHEREAS, A Pittsburgh native and graduate of Taylor Allderdice High School and Duquesne University, Scott Lammie has worked for UPMC since 1990 and currently serves as Chief Financial Officer for UPMC Health Plan and Senior Vice President of UPMC Insurance Services; and,
WHEREAS, in addition to his demanding career, Mr. Lammie has spent countless hours and lent his valuable expertise to advance numerous causes ranging from economic development and the environment to the arts and community service as an active member of the boards of the Hill House Association, Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, The Fred Rogers Company, The Forbes Funds, Urban Innovation21, Little Sisters of the Poor, and the Manchester Bidwell Corporation; and,
WHEREAS, in 2012, Mr. Lammie was honored by the Bidwell Training Center (BTC) for creating a successful training program for electronic record medical assistants to help connect individuals to jobs in Pittsburgh's booming healthcare economy and for helping to support an international affiliate of BTC in Israel, which supports cross-cultural programming and career training for Israeli and Arab individuals; and,
WHEREAS, each year, the Jewish National Fund (JNF), an 115-year old organization dedicated to supporting Israel and the Jewish people, honors an individual for outstanding contributions to the community and the American-Israeli friendship; and,
WHEREAS, this year's Tree of Life Award Dinner will honor Scott Lammie for his dedication to serving his community through both his 26-year career at UPMC and his volunteer activities.

NOW, THERFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize Scott Lammie for his years of volunteer work on behalf of Pittsburgh and commends him for receiving the 2016 Tree of Life Award from the Jewish National Fund; and,
