WHEREAS, Joseph Kaminski , National Director of the Polish National Alliance, was named Polonian of the Year by the Polish Cultural Council for his perpetual dedication to the Polish American community; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Kaminski also serves as Vice President of the Polish Cultural Council, President of the Polish American Congress Western PA Division, the Director PNA District Eight Director, the Director of the Kosciuszko Foundation Pittsburgh Chapter and National Director of the Polish American Congress Charitable Foundation ; and,
WHEREAS, he is very involved as a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish, the first Polish Parish in Pittsburgh built by Polish immigrants in the 1880s, where his activities range from singing in the choir at Polish language masses to assisting the church in fundraising activities; and,
WHEREAS, he and his wife Marlene celebrated 51 years together this past October 9, 2011 and they have been blessed with three daughters and seven grandchildren; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Joe Kaminski for faithfully promoting the Polish culture, history and traditions to the American people, and strengthening friendships between Americans and Poles; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, October 25, 2011, to be "Joe Kaminski Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
