WHEREAS, Ginirosa Haverlandt, better known as Ginger, proudly resides in Pittsburgh's Sheraden neighborhood, where her family's roots date back more than 100 years; and,

WHEREAS, Ginger graduated from Langley High School and carries on her school spirit by serving on the Langley Class Reunion Committee. For more than half a century, Ginger has been an integral member of Saint Phillip Parish (formerly Holy Innocents), volunteering at church festivals and food distributions, facilitating weddings as a bridal coordinator, hosting a table at the annual Calendar Party fundraiser for over 20 years, and assuming leadership roles on the church's parish council; and,

WHEREAS, during her son's childhood, Ginger immersed herself in scouting activities as a den leader, chaperoned events for the Guardian Angels Youth Group, volunteered on various parent committees at the former Elizabeth Seton Elementary School, and delighted children with her Halloween costumes, notably as Cruella de Vil. Her favorite volunteer role was serving as a lunch lady in the school's cafeteria, where she enjoyed interacting with the students; and,

WHEREAS, Ginger currently serves as the Sheraden Community Council treasurer and has volunteered at many of its events, seasonal plantings and cleanups. Having a true servant's heart for persons with disabilities, she has volunteered at Special Olympics events in Lawrence County, PA as well as with Exceptional Adventures, which serves adults with disabilities through hosting dances, parties, and other social outings; and,

WHEREAS, Ginger is known for her unwavering love for Pittsburgh, enthusiastically promoting her city to friends and family, especially newcomers. As a witness to Pittsburgh's history, she was among the first class at the former Sheraden Elementary School, that attended the inaugural Steelers football game at Three Rivers Stadium, and cheered on the victorious Pittsburgh Pirates at Game 7 of the 1979 World Series in Balti...
