WHEREAS, empowering youth through collaborative innovation, creative critical thinking, and visionary leadership is essential to building a vibrant, resilient, and inclusive future for the City of Pittsburgh; and
WHEREAS, the Gamma Ray Ocean Think Tank (G.R.O.T.T.) Program was founded and is distinguished under the exemplary leadership of Lamar Thomas, whose dedicated vision continues to inspire and uplift the next generation; and
WHEREAS, the G.R.O.T.T. Program serves as a transformative platform that focuses on meaningful collaboration to initiate real, sustainable change in today’s youth-equipping young minds with the skills, confidence, and community-minded mindset needed to tackle modern challenges; and
WHEREAS, through mentorship, strategic problem-solving, and a commitment to youth engagement, Lamar Thomas and the G.R.O.T.T. Program demonstrate the power of visionary grassroots leadership in fostering opportunity and positivity across our neighborhood and city;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Councilman Khari Mosley, on behalf of the Council of the City of Pittsburgh, does hereby commend Lamar Thomas and the Gamma Ray Ocean Think Tank (G.R.O.T.T.) Program for their outstanding commitment to empowering youth and initiating positive community change; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council of Pittsburgh hereby proclaims today as "G.R.O.T.T. Program & Lamar Thomas Day" in the City of Pittsburgh and extends our sincere gratitude and best wishes for their continued success and impact.
