WHEREAS, the Venture Outdoors is a nonprofit organization dedicated to making the outdoor recreation community a vibrant centerpiece for this region; and,
WHEREAS, Venture Outdoors works to create an infrastructure to provide information and access to hiking, biking, climbing, paddle, and more, to all members of the community, and create awareness and appreciation of the wealth of environmental beauty and outdoor activities available in the Pittsburgh area; and,
WHEREAS, Venture Outdoors has committed itself to supporting and co-sponsoring events with existing outdoor organizations, in order to increase exposure and diversity of available public activities;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby recognizes Venture Outdoors to be a civic and/or service organization within the context of the Pennsylvania Small Games of Chance Act, as amended.
