WHEREAS, the Squirrel Hill Baseball Association is dedicated to helping children learn about baseball, softball and life. Devoted to the values of character, courage and loyalty, it is committed to promoting these values on and off the field; and,
WHEREAS, this week, the Squirrel Hill Baseball Association will host a team from Perth, Australia as they visit 6 locations in the eastern part of the United States; and,
WHEREAS, the Perth Heat Colts qualified in 2013-2014 for the Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA and because this current team has not qualified in the last two years, their Coach wanted to give the team the same extraordinary, international experience his previous teams had; and,
WHEREAS, the Perth Heat Colts arrived in New York last week, have been to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY and to Niagara Falls and have played teams from Danbury, CT, Harlem in New York City, Albany, NY and on Sunday and Monday, August 20 and 21, 2017, will play their last games in the US against the 10, 11 and 12 year old teams from the Squirrel Hill Little League; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby give a hearty Pittsburgh welcome to the Perth Heat Colts and their Coach, Steve Fish from Perth, Australia and wishes them a great experience in the United States and especially in Pittsburgh, PA.
