Resolution vacating North Canal Street between Chestnut and Heinz Streets in the 23rd Ward, 1st Council District, of the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, it appears by the petition and affidavit on file in the Office of the City Clerk that the owners of all the property fronting or abutting on the line of North Canal in the 23rd Ward, in the 1st Council District of the City of Pittsburgh, have petitioned the council of the City of Pittsburgh to enact a resolution for the vacation of same, and

WHEREAS, said petition contains inter-alia, an indemnification of the city from any claims and from the payment of any damages whatsoever resulting to any properties owned by the petitioners or by ant persons whatsoever, abutting or non-abutting, for or by reason of said vacation; therefore

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

Section 1. That vacating North Canal Street between Chestnut Street and Heinz Street.

All that certain lot or piece of ground situate in the twenty-third (23rd) Ward of the City of Pittsburgh (formerly the Third and Fourth Ward of the City of Allegheny) Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, bounded and described as follows, to wit;

Beginning at a point on the northerly line of North Canal Street, 30 foot wide, at the intersection of the southerly line with Heinz Street, 40 foot wide (formerly known as Sycamore Street) and being common with the northerly right of way line of the Norfolk Southern Railroad; Thence from said point of beginning and by the southerly line of North Canal Street, 30 foot wide, being common with the northerly boundary line of the Norfolk Southern Railroad (No record information available at the county courthouse nor railroad records through the Norfolk Southern Railroad), the following courses and distances: South 40 degrees 52 minutes 35 seconds West, for a distance of 167.26 feet to a point; thence by same South 44 degrees 08 min...
