• Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby congratulate the students of the 2004 Taylor Allderdice Science Bowl and wish them the best of luck during the National Competition; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday March 16, 2004 to be "Team Allderdice Day", here in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, the Department of Energy sponsored Science Bowl academic competition is a rapid-fire style question and answer contest covering the science disciplines of astronomy, biology, mathematics, earth science and general services; and,

WHEREAS, the Western Pennsylvania regional competition began with a round robin format where 4 sections teams, randomly drawn, competed on February 21^st at the South Campus of CCAC; and,

WHEREAS, the winning team from each section moved on to the final double elimination competition Wednesday February 25^th held at the National Energy Technology Laboratory site in South Park; and,

WHEREAS, Team Allderdice won the Southwestern Pennsylvania Science Bowl, successfully defending the title it won last year and earning an all expense paid trip to Washington, D.C., to compete in the National Science Bowl April 29^th - May 3^rd; and,

WHEREAS, the following students will be accompanied by there coach Gina Barrone to Chevy Chase, Maryland for the National Competition:
