Title
Resolution authorizing the Finance Department of the City of Pittsburgh with the concurrence of the Department of Parks & Recreation to withdraw the transfer of parcels 4-H-220 & 4-H-224 as additions to Grandview Park and further to add parcel 4-H-232 as a permanent addition to Grandview Park in the 18th Ward. Council District 2.
Body
WHEREAS: The City of Pittsburgh owns certain property in the 18th Ward, designated as Block 4 H, Lots 220 and 224, which have been designated to be part of Grandview Park by City Council Resolution No. 184. Recorded in Resolution Book Volume 119, page 252, dated March 7, 1985; and

WHEREAS: The new adjacent owner of parcel 4-H-222, 285 Williams Street, containing a house, has found through survey that this house has encroached on City parcel 4-H-220 and requests to purchase this 3,266 square foot lot for sideyard and driveway access along with parcel 4-H-224, a 5 foot wide lot containing 639 square feet; and

WHEREAS: The City acknowledges that this encroachment problem, unknown at the time of Park designation, plus the fact that these two (2) City properties are physically separated from other Park property by privately owned property, justifies the removal of Park designation allowing the property to be sold; and

WHEREAS: The City of Pittsburgh further acknowledges that a City property, parcel 4-H-232, acquired after the original transfer of City properties to Grandview Park designation, is hereby designated to be transferred to Grandview Park because it is a wooded, steep slope parcel lying between two (2) previously dedicated Grandview Park properties.

Be it resolved that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1. The City of Pittsburgh is hereby authorized to remove parcels 4-H-220 and 4-H-224 from Grandview Park designation so that the Finance Department can proceed with the proper disposition. Also, the City of Pittsbur...
