Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and honor Darlene Cash for her outstanding contributions, heartfelt service, and the legacy of warmth and integrity she leaves behind; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Monday, November 3, 2025 to be "Darlene Cash Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Darlene Cash is retiring in November 2025 after years of devoted service to the visitors and employees of the City-County Building; and, 

 

WHEREAS, as the eldest of five siblings, Darlene naturally embraced the role of family matriarch, leading with humor, wisdom, and unwavering honesty. A proud graduate of Peabody High School, she carries a deep love for the Lord whose guidance has instilled in her the patience and compassion that have defined her professional life; and,

 

WHEREAS, her exceptional character and dedication earned her a place on the “Above and Beyond” wall of honors at UPMC Shadyside, where she was recognized for outstanding service to patients and their families; and,

 

WHEREAS, throughout her tenure at the City-County Building, Darlene has left an on all who entered its doors. Beyond her role in maintaining safety and security, she has been a warm and welcoming presence, offering guidance and support to those navigating the building’s many offices; and,

 

WHEREAS, during her tenure at the City-County Building, she has made a lasting impact on countless individuals who have walked through the doors.  Not only is she responsible ensuring the safety of everyone within the building, but she also created a welcoming environment and offered assistance to those navigating its many offices; and, 

 

WHEREAS, her commitment to excellence in customer service has set a standard of kindness, professionalism, and grace that will be remembered long after her departure; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and honor Darlene Cash for her outstanding contributions, heartfelt service, and the legacy of warmth and integrity she leaves behind; and,
