Body
Whereas, the Pennsylvania Hip-Hop Political Convention was held from on October 1st through 3rd, 2004 at the University of Pittsburgh and featured Get Out and Vote workshops, panel discussions, networking events, live performances, and voter registration drives; and

Whereas, the PHHPC, a statewide branch of National Hip-Hop Convention, is a non-partisan, non-profit voter registration project that hopes to engage the "hip-hop" generation in the electoral process.  This demographic encompasses those between the ages of 18 and 35, a group whose voter turnout has traditionally been low; and

Whereas, the PHHPC co-launched a Pittsburgh-based voter participation and education promotional campaign "Everybody Vote", which utilizes a heavily trafficked website found at www.Everybodyvote.com; and

Whereas, as of October 4th the PHHPC had registered over 5000 voters in the Pittsburgh area; and

Whereas, politicians from all parties can agree that the participation of the people is vital to our government and an increase in this participation is deeply appreciated.  This is especially true now, on the eve of an important presidential election.
