Whereas, by Resolution No. 636, effective October 24, 2006, the Council of the City of Pittsburgh authorized a cooperation agreement with the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh (“URA”) in connection with URA's application with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Office of the Budget (the “Commonwealth”) for a $7,500,000 Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program ("RACP") grant for the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh branch modernization project (the "Project"); and

Whereas, the Commonwealth requires the City of Pittsburgh to agree to reimburse it for any expenditure of RACP funds determined by the Commonwealth to be ineligible; and

Whereas, the Commonwealth approved the Application and combined with it a $250,000 RACP grant for the Centre and Kirkpatrick branches; and

Whereas, the Commonwealth has increased the grant by $750,000, which requires an amendment to Resolution No. 636 to reflect the increased grant and to include the Centre and Kirkpatrick branches in the definition of Project;

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

Section 1. Section 1 of Resolution No. 636, effective October 24, 2006, which currently reads as follows:

“The Mayor, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, is authorized to enter into Cooperation Agreement or Agreements with the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh, in a form approved by the City Solicitor, in which the City agrees to reimburse the Commonwealth of Pennsylv...
