Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby acknowledges the Pittsburgh Center for Arts, the Cultural Award Honorees, sponsors, and host committee for their hard work, vision and dedication; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh declares April 24, 2004, to be "Pittsburgh Center for the Arts Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

      WHEREAS, Pittsburgh Center for the Arts was founded in 1945 and has promoted art and artists of the region, and the PCA continues to serve the community through wide-ranging artistic and educational programs; and
      WHEREAS, the PCA exhibits work by contemporary local and regional artists, supports, promotes and sells their work to the public and offers a variety of classes and workshops for adults and children; and
      WHEREAS, the 2004 Pittsburgh Center for the Arts Cultural Awards Celebrations will be held on April 24, 2004 at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall in Oakland to bring together supporters of the Pittsburgh arts community; and
      WHEREAS, this years' Cultural Award honorees are Francois J. Bitz, R. Damian and, Teri Lynn Soffer, Ronald R. and Dr. Judith M. Davenport, and the Charles D. Marshall Family; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh declares
April 24, 2004, to be "Pittsburgh Center for the Arts Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
