WHEREAS, Mary Ann Raymer and her husband Bill raised two foster children; and,

WHEREAS, Mary Ann spent 47 years in various educational roles including Teacher, Principal, Adjunct and Administrator at CCAC; and,
WHEREAS, Mary Ann has been an activist for the AARP, a member of the Ladies Ancient Order of the Hibernians, and a member of St. Anne’s Church where she is a Eucharistic Minister; and,
WHEREAS, Mary Ann also coordinates a monthly program to pack lunch bags for unhoused people in Pittsburgh; and,
WHEREAS, she is also the President of the Bethel Park Friends of the Library; and,
WHEREAS, Mary Ann’s father and uncle were service members during WWII, she enjoys volunteering at the Southwestern Veterans Center where she can meet and speak with veterans and hear their stories; and,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Mary Ann Raymer; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, April 18th, 2023, to be “Mary Ann Raymer Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
