Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the City Clerk, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, to enter into a professional services agreement with Max Goplerud to conduct a statistical analysis of current voting patterns in the City at a cost not to exceed Seven Thousand Seven Hundred Dollars ($7,700).

Body
WHEREAS, City Council appointed a Reapportionment Advisory Committee (“Committee”) to advise City Council on reapportioned city districts based on the 2020 federal census; and,
WHEREAS, among the nine districts there are currently two majority-minority districts; and,
WHEREAS, the Committee requires a statistical analysis of prior voting patterns within the City to determine if its suggested reapportionment is in compliance with federal law with respect to majority-minority districts; and,
WHEREAS, Max Goplerud is qualified to complete the specialized work necessary; and,
WHEREAS, the City wishes to enter into an agreement with Max Goplerud with respect to analyzing voting patterns in the City.
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
Section 1. The Mayor and City Clerk, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, are authorized to enter into a professional services agreement with Max Goplerud to conduct a statistical analysis of current voting patterns in the City at a cost not to exceed Seven Thousand Seven Hundred Dollars ($7,700) appropriated from the following account:

General Fund, City Clerk, Professional & Technical Services, Auditing & Accounting Services, budget year 2022
Section 2. Said Agreement or Agreements shall be approved by the City Solicitor as to form.
