WHEREAS, Julian Lal Cerminara joined the cub scouts in 2008 where he eventually earned the Arrow of Light Award; and,
WHEREAS, Julian is a member of the Order of the Arrow and has held many leadership positions as a boy scout between 2012 and 2018 including Quartermaster, Chaplain’s Aide, and Troop guide; and,
WHEREAS, Julian has received numerous awards such as the George Washington Leader Award, National Outdoor Award for Camping, and the Ad Altare Dei Catholic Religious Award; and,
WHEREAS, Julian works at Brookline Boulevard’s Geekadrome and is a senior at Seton LaSalle High School with plans to attend Duquesne University; and,
WHEREAS, the local community bulletin board outside of Brookline Teen Outreach was outdated, rusted, and dangerous Julian built a new, safer bulletin board with better functionality with shingles, a roof, and locking plexiglass doors; and,
WHEREAS, Julian further improved the community by installing a free mini library in front of Brookline Teen Outreach; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Julian Lal Cerminara; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Sunday, October 13th, 2019, to be “Julian Lal Cerminara Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
