Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend the late Mr. James Presken for his remarkable talents and countless hours of dedication to one of the key assets to the City of Pittsburgh, the Duquesne Incline; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Sunday, May 20, 2012, to be “James Presken Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Mr. James Presken, the late President and Chief Operating Officer of the Duquesne Heights Incline, played a tremendous role in the success of the Incline today; and,
 
WHEREAS, Mr. James Presken started with the Duquesne Incline as a hire for a weld job, but after falling in love with the antique machinery, decided to devote countless hours of volunteering, and was made part of the Duquesne Incline Staff where he created a plan for the Duquesne Incline to not only be sustainable but to excel in the future; and,
 
WHEREAS, Mr. James Presken's understanding of mechanical and technical issues, knowledge of machinery and construction, entrepreneurial talents, and over all passion for the Duquesne Incline, was vital for not only the Incline and its users but for all of the City of Pittsburgh, as he was part of one of the most important symbols and one of the best views of the city; and,
 
WHEREAS, when Mr. James Presken was not at the Duquesne Incline securing it's success, he was busy watching his daughter Breanna grow into a talented young woman, watching his son Jake succeed in everything he was part of, and while doing all of this, never leaving his loving wife Colleen's side; and,  
 
WHEREAS, Mr. James Presken's hard work and dedication to the Duquesne Incline may never be quite comprehended, but will be made known, due to the re-dedication of the lower station and pedestrian bridge by the Society for the Preservation of the Duquesne Incline Heights in Mr. Presken's name; and,
