Title: WHEREAS, Duncan Kirkwood is a top speaker in the self-development arena. He has inspired audiences and organizations to become more purpose driven, resilient and mentally tough; and,

WHEREAS, Duncan Kirkwood is a top speaker in the self-development arena. He has inspired audiences and organizations to become more purpose driven, resilient and mentally tough; and,

WHEREAS, Mr. Kirkwood is a husband and father of three; and,

 

WHEREAS, Mr. Kirkwood has received BA Communication from Alabama State University, and an MPA from Ashford University. He is also a member of the Alabama Army National Guard and is a resilience trainer; and,

 

WHEREAS, McDonalds across Pennsylvania and West Virginia has purchased 800 copies of Mr. Kirkwood’s book “Rerouting: Resilience Tools and Tactics” to donate to schools throughout both states. Westinghouse was chosen for Pittsburgh; and,

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Duncan Kirkwood for showing resilience while serving his country and also teaching to young people, parents, organizations, and communities; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, May 4, 2021, to be “Duncan Kirkwood Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
