Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby congratulate the Lemont Restaurant for its continued success; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare, June 6, 2020 to be "LeMont Restaurant Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, the LeMont Restaurant, located on Grandview Avenue in Mount Washington, is celebrating its 60th Anniversary during the month of June; and,

 

WHEREAS, Anna and Ed Dunlap purchased the LeMont Restaurant in 1999 from the late James Blandi, who opened the restaurant on June 6, 1960; and,

 

WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Dunlap hosted their wedding reception at the LeMont on September 5, 1970 and were regular customers for over 39 years before they decided to purchase the restaurant on June 1, 1999; and,

 

WHEREAS, since becoming the new owners , the LeMont has become the place for corporate lunches, unique parties, fundraising events and is a favorite venue for weddings, due to its superb cuisine and unsurpassed panoramic view of the city; and,

 

WHEREAS, the LeMont has received the 2020 Diners’ Choice Award, was one of the recipients of the WeddingWire Couples’ Choice Awards and is the only Five Star Diamond Restaurant in the Pittsburgh area which is awarded by the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare, June 6, 2020 to be “LeMont Restaurant Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
