WHEREAS, Matthew Robert Provolt, son of Robert and Laura Provolt, is a member of the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 66 and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout; and
WHEREAS, Matthew will be honored at a ceremony on May 19, 2008, at the Trinity Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church, formerly the Sheraden Community Presbyterian Church; and
WHEREAS, Matthew's Eagle Scout Project greatly improved the interior conditions of the Sheraden Community Presbyterian Church by painting the sanctuary that was damaged from moisture leaking through the walls; and
WHEREAS, the reason for Matthew's Eagle Scout Project was to not only improve the physical structure of the church, but to improve the conditions for all of the people who worship there; and
WHEREAS, with Matthew's leadership, the project was successfully completed and is now enjoyed by congregation of the new Trinity Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church; and
WHEREAS, only those young men who have been outstanding in scouting, have the esteem of their community and fellow scouts and serve in a position of responsibility and leadership obtain Eagle Scout status, the highest rank in Boy Scouts.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby congratulates Eagle Scout Matthew Robert Provolt on his recent achievements and commends him for his hard work and dedication.
