Title: NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh recognizes and commends the Wal-Mart Stores from Market 430 and their employee volunteers, the Urban Impact Foundation, and the Fineview Citizens Council for the efforts in the renovation of Fineview Baseball Field.

WHEREAS, The Urban Impact Foundation was formed with a vision to transform the lives of the North Side community one person, one family, one block at a time, focusing on rebuilding the lives of at-risk youth spiritually, academically, emotionally, socially and physically; and
 
WHEREAS, The Urban Impact Foundation is critically aware that making a significant impact in any given community cannot be accomplished by a single organization.  It is for this reason that they continuously seek to develop strategic alliances with other individuals and organizations; and
 
WHEREAS, This was the motive for utilizing the resources that the Market 430 Wal-Mart stores graciously offered to the Foundation and the Fineview Citizens Council for the renovation of Fineview Baseball Field; and
 
WHEREAS, The purpose of the field renovation service project in Fineview is two-pronged:
 
1) To involve volunteers from in and around the city in making a positive impact in the North Side community.
 
2) To revive the Fineview field and make it a better, safer place for the youth and the adults of the community to utilize and enjoy.
