Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a grant agreement with the Heinz Endowments to receive $50,000 in funding to support (1) A Lean Six Sigma certified trainer; (2) New, innovative cost saving and waste reduction policies and (3) A pilot group of City Employees that will complete the training and start to identify cost savings and performance improvements.

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
Section 1. The Mayor and the Chief of Innovation and Performance are hereby authorized to enter into a Grant Agreement with the Heinz Endowments for the receipt of grant monies in the amount of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000). These funds will be used to support (1) A Lean Six Sigma certified trainer; (2) New, innovative cost saving and waste reduction policies and (3) A pilot group of City Employees that will complete the training and start to identify cost savings and performance improvements. The Grant Agreement shall be approved as to form and substance by the City Solicitor and monies shall be deposited into the Lean Six Sigma JDE# 0329400143.48311.00 Budget Year 2015.
Section 2. The Chief of Innovation and Performance, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, is hereby further authorized to enter into agreement or agreements, contract or contracts, and to make all legitimate expenditures required under the terms and conditions of the Grant Agreement with the Heinz Endowments outlined in Section 1 of this resolution. Said agreement or agreements, contract or contracts, or expenditures shall not exceed fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) chargeable to and payable from the Lean Six Sigma JDE# 0329400143.50000.00 for Budget Year 2015.
